Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia impose their law in the Madrid P1 final

After Rome, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia have won another title in Madrid. The Spaniard and the Argentinean, couple number 4, faced the same opponents they beat a few days ago in Italy, Paquito Navarro and Fede Chingotto, and once again they managed to get the victory by 7-5 and 6-2.

However, the match got off to a better start for Fede Chingotto and Paquito Navarro, breaking their opponents’ serve in the fifth game. A scare on the part of the Argentine player, who tripped over the billboard just like Stupaczuk did in the quarter finals, had all the fans at the Madrid Arena on edge. On this occasion, Chingotto had a bit more luck and was able to finish the match, although in that same game the advantage they had gained vanished.

Neither pairing managed to break their opponents’ serve until, at the last moment of the first set, at 6-5 Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia broke with authority and won the first set.

The second chapter of the match started with the couple 4 leading the scoreboard. In the second game they broke their opponents again and started with a 3-0 lead. It was night time for Paquito and Chingotto in the seventh game, when at 4-2 down they wasted four break points that could have put them back in the match. Against Tapia and Coello you can’t forgive, and after winning their serve they broke the Sevillian and the player from Olavarría to put the finishing touch to the final with a 6-2 win.

We played at a good level, let me congratulate Arturo. We are a good couple, we fight together, we want to win, and it’s never easy to play against Chingotto and Navarro”, commented the player from Catamarca after the match. For his part, Coello commented: “I’m the one who has to thank Agustin: if I do something wrong, he’s always there. Today I wasn’t at the level of the others in the field, but he has always supported me, for me, he is number 1“.

With this title, Coello and Tapia have won eleven tournaments so far this year (nine on the World Padel Tour and two on Premier Padel).
