Cookies policy

The recent modification of regulations on advertising and management of consent for the use of cookies, pixels or other information storage elements means that websites are obliged to adapt to the new regulations on cookies in Law 34/2002, on information society services and electronic commerce.

The downloading of this type of element implies the capacity to collect information on the user’s activity and has implications in relation to the user’s privacy.

For this reason, the new regulation imposes the obligation to obtain the informed consent of users in order to accept the use of cookies on websites.

What is a cookie?

Cookies are small files that are downloaded to your computer when you browse websites. A simple example would be when you go to a webmail account page such as Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo Mail.

Cookies allow a website to recognise a user’s browser and do not contain or collect information. They are used, for example, to keep a user authenticated to an account as above without requiring them to log in each time they access their account. Another example is advertising where, based on advertisements that the user has previously visited, we try to offer more relevant advertisements.

At Padel Addict we use the following types of cookies:

  • First party cookies: these are strictly necessary cookies. They allow the user to interact with the website using all its functions (duration between 23 days and three months).
  • Performance and analysis cookies: these are cookies used for analysis and statistics that improve the website experience. By using these cookies, more relevant information can be shown to visitors (Duration between 100 days and 1 year).
  • Affiliation cookies: as a website with affiliate links, this type of cookie allows the affiliate company to detect that a customer comes from this site.
  • Advertising cookies: these are cookies used by the advertising elements on the blog (Google AdSense).

Likewise, Google Analytics enables cookies in the website domain called:

  • “__utma”: this is necessary for the operation of Google Analytics and has an expiry period of 2 years.
  • “__utmz”: is used to track the location of the visit, i.e. from where and how the user has arrived at our website and expires after 6 months).

The objective is to compile statistics: the number of visits, the period of consultations, the search engine used to access the website, the keywords used, the global location of the visitor, the contents visited on the website, as well as other traffic parameters on the website, always from anonymity.

Google stores this information collected by cookies in such a way that no user is identified. Nor is your IP address associated with any other information held by Google. In addition, Google Inc. is a signatory to the Safe Harbour Agreement. This agreement guarantees that the data transferred will be treated in accordance with the levels of protection of European regulations. For more information about Google Analytics you can go to the following link.

From the choice you make about the use of cookies on this website, you will be sent an additional cookie to safeguard your choice so that you do not have to accept the use of cookies each time you access the Padel Addict website.
