Will Paquito Navarro and Sanyo Gutiérrez join forces again in 2024?

With the large number of couple changes that occur in the professional circuit, it seems more and more normal that players who have tried to play together in the past try it again. That was the case with Sanyo Gutierrez and Fernando Belasteguin in 2023, and the same could happen in 2024 with Paquito Navarro and Sanyo Gutierrez.

Veinte Diez launched the exclusive this week

Veinte Diez announced this week the possible union of both players: “The information we have in Veinte Diez is that Paquito Navarro has already closed with Sanyo Gutierrez to play from next year”.

According to the Argentinean media outlet, there is a verbal agreement between both players to play together again in 2024. What we will have to wait, therefore, is that they finally do so and announce it publicly.

How did Paquito Navarro and Sanyo Gutiérrez fare in their first stage?

The player from Seville and the player from San Luis played together in 2016 and 2017, where they managed to win 7 titles. Paquito and Sanyo spent weeks fighting for the number 1 spot with Pablo Lima and Fernando Belasteguín, who finally managed to finish as the best couple in the World Padel Tour ranking.

Despite following in the footsteps of the number 1’s, the Spaniard and the Argentine decided not to continue. Sanyo himself, in fact, analysed his time with Paquito as very good from a sporting point of view, but not so much in terms of their relationship. Perhaps now, 7 years later, the players have changed, they are more veteran and are seasoned in a thousand battles, which can make them face the emotional side differently.

Both players, despite not getting the number 1, ended up achieving it separately. First it was Sanyo Gutierrez who would get it in 2018 with Maxi Sanchez and then, in 2019, Paquito Navarro himself with Juan Lebron.

What is true is that Paquito Navarro and Sanyo Gutierrez are not having their best season as professionals. Neither of them have managed to win a title this year, something that they had been achieving in all the past seasons, either with one partner or the other. It is true that the Spaniard and the Argentinian have reached several finals this year, but neither of them have ended up becoming champions.
