Fernando Belasteguín will be absent from the Granada Open along with Sanyo Gutiérrez

The absence of Juan Lebron and Ale Galan in this Granada Open 2023 will not be the only one. In the last few hours, it has been made official that Fernando Belasteguin will not participate in the event, and therefore, neither will his partner Sanyo Gutierrez.

Fernando Belasteguín still hasn’t recovered from injury

As Fernando Belasteguín himself has commented on his social networks, the player from Argentina hasn’t finished recovering from an injury he suffered a couple of weeks ago. “In the control ultrasound this morning before leaving for Granada it came out that the adductor magnus strain of 14 days ago has not yet healed well”, said Bela.

Undoubtedly, this news is a cold shower for the player, who said he was “very sad because I really wanted to return to compete and the sensations were good”.

Bela and Sanyo’s comeback in Brussels

Fernando Belasteguín and Sanyo Gutiérrez will miss another World Padel Tour event in Granada. The Argentine couple have played the Abu Dhabi Padel Master and La Rioja Padel Open on the circuit. They also took part in the Qatar Major of Premier Padel, where they achieved their best result, losing in the final against the Superpibes.

On the horizon, the Argentine players are looking ahead to the Brussels Padel Open, which takes place from 22 to 30 April. They hope to be able to make their comeback by then.

Due to their absence, Jon Sanz and Javi Garrido, another couple that makes their debut this week, will automatically advance to the last sixteen of the Granada Open.
