Fernando Belasteguín and Sanyo Gutiérrez will break up after 3 tournaments!

The 2.0 version of Fernando Belasteguín and Sanyo Gutiérrez will be more ephemeral than the first. On Thursday the 13th of April the Argentine couple broke up after playing only three tournaments together in their second stage.

The current number 3 seeded couple of the World Padel Tour will say goodbye in the next hours or days. Fernando Belasteguin’s absence at the Granada Open has ended up being the trigger for this break up, after missing the last 3 events on the calendar (not counting the Reus Open 500).

Repeated absences lead to their break up

Many absences for an experienced couple that can’t afford to lose so many points in the Race. Fernando Belasteguín and Sanyo Gutiérrez need to be accompanied on court by young players to support them in a season that promises to be very intense between the World Padel Tour and Premier Padel tournaments.

The player from Pehuajó and the player from San Luis will say goodbye after recording very mixed results in which their best performance was at the Qatar Major, losing in the final to Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno. In the other two tournaments they’ve played (Abu Dhabi and La Rioja) they fell in the quarter finals and the last sixteen.

The couple suffered a competitive setback during the South American tour. After the tournament in La Rioja, the duo announced that they would not take part in Chile or Paraguay. Then came the Reus Open 500, but none of the top couples in the ranking would be taking part. However, the problem worsened with the last minute withdrawal of Bela for the tournament in Granada, according to the player who said he had strained his adductor magnus a fortnight ago.

Who will be Fernando Belasteguín and Sanyo Gutiérrez’s new partners?

The reality is that, although the players have not yet made their breakup official, the names of their new partners have already appeared on social networks.

According to several sources, Sanyo Gutierrez will bet on Momo Gonzalez as a partner. Fernando Belasteguin will play with Mike Yanguas.

The curious thing about the situation is that Momo Gonzalez was just debuting a new project with Mike Yanguas, with whom he made his debut in Reus and did it with victory. The Andalusians’ match in the last sixteen of the Granada Open, where they lost to Ramiro Moyano and Xisco Gil, looks set to be their last as partners.
