World Padel Tour and Premier Padel, close to reaching an agreement to unify their circuits

The conflict between World Padel Tour and Premier Padel may be close to an end! According to Mundo Deportivo, both circuits are close to reaching an agreement to unify their circuits for the 2024 season.

It is worth remembering that World Padel Tour has an agreement with the players for this season, but not for next season. Premier Padel, since its launch in 2022, has always had the support of the male players and, recently, also of the female players.

However, at the end of January there was a big step forward, when both circuits published a statement in which they indicated that they were initiating talks to unblock the situation.

What’s more, during the MARCA Sports Weekend at the end of March, QSI owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi indicated that negotiations were on track.

Now, it seems that these talks are going well and an agreement to unify both circuits may be close to being reached.

According to Mundo Deportivo: “The future circuit would be the current Premier Padel, owned by QSI and the FIP, from next year also with a business participation of Damm that would continue betting on the sport of padel after more than a decade leading its expansion and internationalization“.

Although Premier Padel had last season with 8 tournaments, and has initially proposed the same number for 2023, the idea they have always conveyed is that in 2024 there will be at least 24 tournaments.

Undoubtedly, this agreement between World Padel Tour and Premier Padel will be a big step forward, ending the so-called “circuit war” and with players playing a single competition consisting of fewer tournaments.
