Now it’s official. The curtain falls on the 2025 season and professional padel bids farewell in the only way great stories know how: with a final worthy of its own legend. Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia were proclaimed winners of the Premier Padel Finals, a tournament that perfectly reflects everything this year has been. A gift. A grand finale for an already historic rivalry.
This pair now has only one thing left to do: continue making history. And, on an individual level, Arturo Coello was missing just one piece to complete his trophy case: the Premier Padel Finals. After last year’s defeat in the final, the King saved his revenge for this year. And in 2025, he finally got it.
What we saw on the court was more than just a final. If it wasn’t the best match of the year, it came dangerously close. An absolute spectacle, the ultimate expression of what this sport can be. Four players playing at their best, without flaws, without fear, without holding anything back. Perhaps the highest level professional padel has reached to date. An early Christmas present for anyone who loves this sport.
The score says it all and nothing at the same time: 6-7, 6-3, and 7-6 for the number 1 seeds. A match that could have gone either way. In fact, in the end, Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto played even better. But Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello have something that cannot be explained, and we could check it again in the Premier Padel Finals. It appears when the match is heating up. When the margin disappears. When all that’s left is to compete.
Hats off to all four. Shared MVP. Another page in the battle of titans that has defined the entire season.
Earlier, the Palau Sant Jordi hosted that match that no one wants to play, but that only the Finals can offer. The battle for third and fourth place pitted two pairs destined to part ways: Stupaczuk and Di Nenno against Paquito Navarro and Jon Sanz.
A duel with a prize and meaning. A final gift for the audience. Two pairs with very similar styles, capable of clinging to the court until exhaustion and always returning one more ball.
The difference was in their heads. The Argentines maintained constant consistency, a stable cruising speed from start to finish. The Spaniards, on the other hand, experienced a roller coaster ride: peaks of brilliance mixed with periods of disconnection.
The result, 7-6 and 6-3 for Franco and Martín, allows them to end the year on a high note, adding extra points and a prize in a difficult emotional context. They will not continue together in 2026, but they leave behind a final display of competitiveness and pride.
This is how 2025 comes to a close. With epic moments, history, and the feeling of having experienced an unrepeatable season. Padel takes a break. The legend continues.
