Season 4 of the World Padel League once again turned Mumbai into the international epicentre of padel for a week in which the sport was combined with entertainment, franchise identity and a format that breaks the mould of everything the professional circuit has to offer. Against this vibrant backdrop, the Game Changers Lions were crowned champions on Sunday after a convincing 19–10 victory over the Aussie Mavericks Jaguars, a scoreline that reflects the superiority of a team that dominated every phase of the final.
The competition, which has established itself as one of the major events of the summer break, once again brought together top-level players in a different, more dynamic setting, with a production designed to bring padel to new audiences. Mumbai, once again, delivered a unique atmosphere, turning each day into a celebration of the sport.
A title decided from the very first set
The path to the title began with the women’s set, where Paula Josemaría and Bea González set the tone for the final. Their 6–3 victory over Ale Alonso and Claudia Jensen not only opened the scoring but also conveyed a sense of control that the Lions would not relinquish. The World Padel League, true to its three-set format featuring three different couples, then turned the spotlight on Teo Zapata and Fede Mourinho, who extended the lead with a convincing 6-2 victory over Ignacio Piotto and Enzo Jensen. That second blow left the Mavericks Jaguars with no margin for error.
The responsibility of closing out the final fell to Sanyo Gutiérrez and Gonzalo Alfonso, who faced the most evenly matched set of the day. Pol Hernández and Guille Collado put up a fight, but the final 7–5 score sealed the victory and sparked celebrations for a franchise that perfectly embodied the competitive spirit of the World Padel League.
