It has been some time since Tecnifibre decided to go all out in padel. After years as one of the leading brands in the world of tennis, the French firm began its journey into the world of padel with several models that have gradually improved to become some of the most popular on the market. Its presence in clubs is growing steadily and, in light of this growth, Tecnifibre has taken another step forward by revamping its most comprehensive range: the Curva.

Following the success of the Bomba – their most powerful rackets – they have once again updated their catalogue in a bid to continue offering players more options. The Curva range was launched two seasons ago with a series of models tailored to consumers’ needs and has now been given a facelift with new colours.

The features of this range

The Bomba range is the most aggressive, but the Curva range aims for a perfect balance between comfort, control and responsiveness in attack. For this very reason, the French brand has used a hybrid shape across all its models, with a different balance depending on each racket, yet all designed to perform seamlessly anywhere on the court.

One of their key features is the technologies they employ. At Tecnifibre, they have the TecniLab, where they conduct tests to improve the performance of their products; it was there that they discovered that the ball’s trajectory and the angle of strike are what set top-level players apart from beginners. For this reason, they sought to optimise this aspect through aerodynamic improvements with ‘X-Speed’, which consists of channels on the sides.

Furthermore, all models feature a fairly pronounced sandy texture that aids spin. In terms of durability, this has also been enhanced with ‘X-Top’ technology’, which reinforces the most vulnerable points so that the racket can better withstand any shot.

Tecnifibre Curva Power: the most offensive

The jewel in the crown of this range is the Power. It is the most advanced racket in this collection. Like the others, it also boasts a teardrop shape, a medium balance and the brand’s best technologies, but in this case it weighs 360 grams, features 18K carbon on the faces and a highly reactive rubber.

It performs superbly from the back of the court, where it stands out for its precision and manoeuvrability, but also in attack, with more than enough power to drive smashes and drop shots. It is precisely this model that professionals such as Lucho Capra and Javi Martínez have chosen, players known for their control and versatility.

The first version was also black, but with blue and red detailing. This time, they’ve given it that black tone combined with grey in certain details and on the logo, making it the least eye-catching and most elegant of the three.

Tecnifibre Curva Speed: the most agile

The most distinctive of them all is the Speed. It’s a racket that also seeks control from any area of the court, but rather than prioritising precision, it focuses more on speed. It retains the same characteristics that make it feel great in both defence and attack, but with a slightly harder rubber offering less bounce, 6K carbon and a weight of 355 grams, making it the lightest of the lot.

It may have slightly less power on aerial shots compared to the Power, but it handles better on volleys thanks to its greater agility when moving. For players who need a lighter racket and aren’t looking for so much reactivity, but rather a responsive feel from the racket, the Speed is a great option.

That speed and spirit on the court are reflected in its colours. The previous model was red, whilst this one features a gradient from orange to black that makes it stand out with its aggressive and eye-catching design.

Tecnifibre Curva Soft: the easiest to use

The two models mentioned above perform equally well for both less experienced and more advanced players. However, they may not be as well suited to complete beginners as the Soft, which alsodelivers impressive performance at all levels, but is easier to use for those with less refined striking technique. Comfort and precision remain the foundation of everything, but here with greater ease of use.

The Soft has the same weight as the Power (360 grams) and even the same rubber with plenty of ball speed, but in this case with a combination of fibreglass and carbon on the faces, which makes contact with the ball softer and lighter for the player, allowing them to generate greater power without requiring as much effort.

Moving on from the blue and black colour scheme of the first version, Tecnifibre has also sought to innovate with another gradient design that ranges from a lighter blue to a darker one, ending in black at the top. A blend of eye-catching and elegant styling for those seeking this alternative within the Curva range.

These rackets are aimed at well-rounded, versatile players who want to make the most of their game in both defence and attack, seeking precision in their shots and ease of handling. A very comfortable option for any type of player on the court. However, the Power is better suited to more aggressive players, the Speed to those seeking a fast pace and the ability to move nimbly, and the Soft to those who want total comfort when striking the ball.

All three are available in their new colours on the Tecnifibre website. The Power is priced at 249.99 euros, whilst the Speed is priced at 229.99 and the Soft at 199.99. Three top-class options that aim to continue making their mark in clubs around the world.
