The Reserve Cup will land for the first time in Spain and it will do so with a duel that promises to be one of the biggest attractions of the year for padel fans. Between the 18th and 20th of September, the iconic Puente Romano resort in Marbella will be the setting for the next stop of this exhibition. As a highlight, the CEO of Reserve, Wayne Boich, has confirmed to MARCA that there will be a duel of the highest order, which will pit Alejandro Galan and Arturo Coello against Agustin Tapia and Juan Lebron.

This clash, which was scheduled for the South African Invitational Padel a few weeks ago, didn’t take place due to Juan Lebron’s withdrawal from the event. Now, everything seems to indicate that the second time will be the charm and this spectacular match will take place in Marbella, the birthplace of padel in Spain.

What will the format of the competition be like?

The format of the competition divides the participants into two teams: Team Reserve, led by Galan and Coello, and Team Marbella, with Tapia and Lebron as leaders. As confirmed by Wayne Boich, this clash will be played – unless there are last minute changes – on Thursday, the opening day of the tournament, and will award one point for the overall ranking. Friday’s matches will earn two points and Saturday’s matches will earn three points, adding a strategic component to each matchday.

As we have already mentioned, this match had already generated expectation in August, when it was scheduled for an exhibition in South Africa that finally did not take place due to Lebron’s decision to rest before the P1 in Madrid. Now, Marbella will be the place where it finally materialises.

Which players will play in the Reserve Cup in Marbella?

The Reserve Cup, which debuted in Miami in 2024 and repeated there in early 2025, comes to the Costa del Sol as the second stop on its annual calendar. The event, with NBA star Jimmy Butler as honorary president, will distribute 500,000 dollars in prize money and will bring together the likes of Franco Stupaczuk, Mike Yanguas, Coki Nieto, Pablo Cardona and Javi Garrido, among others.

With a team format that allows to see unusual couples in the Premier Padel circuit, the Marbella event combines elite padel, spectacle and a luxury environment, consolidating itself as one of the most exclusive and media competitions on the international calendar.

Tickets now on sale

Tickets for the Reserve Cup Marbella are now on sale on the website www.reservecup.com and you can buy either a 3-day pass (from 99 €) or tickets for each of the days. Thursday’s ticket is €35, Friday’s is €40 and Saturday’s is €45.
