The Germany Premier Padel P2 crowned Alejandro Galan and Federico Chingotto this Sunday, who were proclaimed champions after defeating world number ones Agustin Tapia and Arturo Coello 7-6, 6-2 in the final. A victory of enormous value for the Spanish-Argentine pairing, who had not lifted a title for more than three months (the last one was at the Italy Major) and who have done it again precisely against their great rivals.
A hard-earned victory from the resistance
The match started with Tapia and Coello imposing their law on serve. The ranking leaders broke in the seventh game of the first set and seemed to be on their way to an early lead. However, Galan and Chingotto took advantage of their first break point opportunity to level the score at 5-5 and force a tiebreak. There, the number two pairing showed their mettle and determination to win 7-6 and take the lead in the final.
Driven by the momentum of the tie-break, Galan and Chingotto started the second set with an immediate break that completely changed the script of the match. Tapia and Coello, who until then had been almost impregnable with their serve, couldn’t find a way to recover. On the contrary, they saw how their opponents broke them again in the seventh game, which left the set practically sentenced. With a 6-2, Galan and Chingotto closed the match and were proclaimed winners of the Germany P2, a title that tastes like vindication.

The victory has an added symbolic value. Until today, the balance of direct confrontations in 2025 between both couples was six wins for Coello-Tapia and only one for Galán-Chingotto. With this result, the number twos have won their fifth title of the season and their tenth since they became a pairing, confirming that their project, which started halfway through last season, continues to grow and has the necessary solidity to challenge the dominators of the circuit.
The battle for the top continues
For Tapia and Coello, the defeat is a setback in a season that until now had been almost perfect, with nine titles in the bag. For Galán and Chingotto, on the other hand, it is a boost to their morale and competitive spirit that allows them to close the gap and, above all, to reinforce their confidence in their ability to beat the number ones on the big stages.
The CASTELLO Düsseldorf witnessed a vibrant final that confirms that the rivalry between the two pairings will mark the pulse of the circuit for the rest of the season. Galan and Chingotto smile again, and they do it in the best possible scenario: defeating the kings of world padel.
