ELITE LTD, an exclusive collection from HEAD Padel to mark its 25th anniversary

What began in Argentina in the late 1980s as an almost artisanal project has become one of the great stories of modern padel. In 2025, HEAD Padel will celebrate 25 years since its official launch with a limited collection that combines nostalgia and avant-garde design: ELITE LTD, a racket with a retro essence and accessories that pay tribute to the brand’s origins.

ELITE LTD: a racket with a retro soul and only 1,000 units

The big launch of this commemoration in HEAD Padel is the ELITE LTD, a racket inspired by the wooden model manufactured in 1989 in Argentina, when everything was just beginning to take shape.

Only 1,000 units have been produced worldwide, making this piece a collector’s item for padel enthusiasts. The retro aesthetic, marked by brown and black tones, coexists with the performance of a modern racket, designed with HEAD’s own technology for today’s game.

The collection doesn’t stop there: it is completed with two exclusive bags — the RETRO PADEL BAG 25TH LTD and the TOTE PADEL BAG 25TH LTD — as well as the RETRO COVER BAG 25TH LTD, all with that vintage feel that harks back to the first HEAD rackets and the brand’s original logo.

A legacy that looks to the future

HEAD Padel’s journey began in Argentina with rackets made from Kiri wood, a lightweight material from the forests of Misiones that was reinforced with fibreglass. Those models won the trust of the first professionals, at a time when padel was a real social phenomenon.

“Padel was crazy. New courts were opening all the time, there were tournaments every weekend and the stands were filled as if it were a music concert,‘ recalls Jorge Nicolini, one of the most charismatic players of the 1990s. Daniela Álvarez, a pioneer of that boom, also recalls the intensity of those years: ’I competed, taught and played exhibitions all over the country. I enjoyed every moment.”

Today, a quarter of a century later, HEAD not only looks back with this limited collection, but also reaffirms its role in the evolution of global padel: from those wooden rackets to the latest generation of carbon ones, always with the same underlying idea, to push the limits of what this sport can be.
