Bordeaux does it again. As if this tournament had a special penchant for unexpected twists, the Bordeaux P2 closes out its 2026 edition with two finals that left no one indifferent. The Mériadeck arena bore witness to history.
Fourth Consecutive Title for Arturo and Agustín in Bordeaux
The setting was extraordinary. The two couples entered the final with their head-to-head record tied at four. Galán and Tapia were tied at 58 professional titles in their individual careers, with the tiebreaker hinging on what would happen on this court. And above all, the number Ale had on his backpack: his 100th final.
The conditions were radically different from those of the Superclásico in Valladolid. There, the outdoor setting and the heat fueled fast, aggressive play. Here, the slow indoor court at Mériadeck called for patience and a rally-based game. It was a different match, even though the protagonists were the same.
The start of the first set was a back-and-forth exchange of breaks, with neither couple able to hold serve. Back and forth, high tension—neither side willing to give an inch. Until Chingotto and Galán secured the decisive break and took the first set 7-5.
The second set began in the same way, with a break by Jorge Martínez’s duo that their opponents immediately returned. The same script unfolded, but this time it went to a tie-break, where the world No. 1s rose to the occasion and forced a deciding set.

It was a huge mental blow for Ale and Fede, who for much of the match seemed poised to claim the title. They were unable to regroup, and Arturo and Agus capitalized on this weakness to seal their fourth consecutive title 6-2. Furthermore, Tapia now leads Galán in individual titles.
