There was a night in Kuwait that left padel breathless. A night that was not just a simple final, but two parallel conquests that are now part of the sport’s recent history. Fede Chingotto and Ale Galán, on the one hand, and Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría, on the other, were crowned World Cup Pairs champions. Two crowns, two world titles, same ingredients: head, heart, a very high level of play, and the ability to turn suffering into momentum.

The Kuwait Arena, with its 4,700 spectators in a packed BNK Central Court, was the scene of a decisive chapter that reshuffles dynamics, reopens races for the number one spot, and rewrites hierarchies on the eve of Dubai and the next stop in Mexico. The two finals were different, but with a common denominator: the ability to change the script when the match was on the edge.

Chingotto and Galán: head, heart, and a final point for eternity

Ale Galán was already on his knees, but not as a symbol of defeat. This time, being on his knees was the image that validated a champion. In front of 4,700 witnesses in Kuwait, Galán collapsed on the floor with his hands on his face. And at that moment, Fede Chingotto jumped on him and hugged him with the energy of someone who had played for two hours as if his whole life depended on it. Chingotto and Galán became World Cup Pairs Champions by coming back from what seemed impossible.

Because the final started off uphill. The number ones, Coello and Tapia, came out hungry for revenge after that 6-0 in the third set in Milan P1. The number two pair fell like an initial tsunami: 6-2 in 27 minutes. The feeling was clear: that superiority that had been the norm for long stretches of the season. But Chingotto and Galán did not accept the script. A trip to the bench was enough to reset their minds, tension, and attitude. From then on, every ball was a mental battle. And the turnaround began.

Seven break points wasted by the number ones weighed heavily. And when the score was 5-5, the number twos took advantage of the only one they had. A statistic that defines this World Championship: 50% break efficiency for the World Cup Pairs Champions, just 16% for Coello and Tapia. That margin, in a final like this, is quite a statement.

The third set was no longer survival mode: it was domination. Tapia and Coello lost precision, lost patience, and ran out of solutions. Chingo and Galán, on the other hand, became giants. With every ball they defended, with every impossible recovery, they erased weeks of doubts and replaced them with certainties. When the final match point fell, the image said it all: tears, knees on the ground, an eternal hug, and a clear message for the future. The Race is tightening: the gap to the leaders is now only 680 points, and in Dubai there is a real possibility of a direct attack on the top.

Then, in the press room, the noise died down and the soul came alive. Chingotto spoke of quiet work, day after day, of making each other better. Galán spoke of praying on the last point for the ball to go out, of holding on mentally and never letting go of belief. Their motto, as they repeated: play every ball to the end. That “to the end” is now a hallmark. And from Paris, four titles out of a possible five say that this movement is no longer an anecdote, it is a trend.

Ari and Paula win their third consecutive title

A few hours earlier, women’s padel had already had its own coronation. Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría closed out a perfect World Cup with a double 6-3 victory over Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea in a final that was a tactical and emotional whirlwind. Their “third” consecutive title is not just another title. The champions of this first FIP World Cup Pairs puts you directly in the sport’s hall of fame. But doing so after winning two Premier Padel tournaments (Milan and NewGiza) and amid a narrative of criticism, doubts, and questions elevates their crown to even greater symbolism.

The match had something strange, frenetic: six breaks in the first set, nine in total. Something that almost never happens at this level, and even less so when the two best pairs in the world are facing each other. But Ari and Paula turned it into a perfect plan. Consistency, precision, and a touch of aggression at exactly the right moment. Ari, bordering on perfection. Paula, always stepping in at the right moment. Every attack born of defensive work. Every solution built on reading patterns and studying the opponent.

At the press conference, they explained it without excessive romanticism: the secret is to work hard, rewatch the matches, analyze them, and strive alongside the coaching staff. They don’t hide. They’ve been together for five years, which means going through good, average, and tough cycles. They have also had their dips in confidence. But they didn’t give up. And this world title in Kuwait proves that their persistence was not just rhetoric. They are back at the top. And the FIP Ranking is once again wide open. The gap with Gemma and Delfi is down to 1,510 points, and there are still 4,500 points up for grabs between Dubai, Mexico, and the Premier Padel Finals. The math allows us to dream.

World padel is experiencing a moment where the throne is not secure. And this World Padel Cup not only delivered crowns: it delivered narrative twists, fueled the epic, and ignited the final stretch of the season.
