Nothing can stop them now! Bea González and Paula Josemaría are on a roll and have been crowned champions of the Premier Padel Asunción P2, their fourth consecutive title following their first victory in Miami.
The women’s final of the Asunción P2 pitted the two best couples of the season against each other: the No. 1 seeds, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea, facing the No. 2 seeds, Bea González and Paula Josemaría.
Comeback and a new title for Bea and Paula
The match was crucial, and there was a lot at stake. For Gemma and Delfi, it was an opportunity to put a stop to direct rivals who were coming into the tournament on a roll. Thus, the No. 1s got off to a better start in the first set despite trailing in the early games. Two consecutive clutch points in the ninth and tenth games gave them the set 6-4.
However, Bea and Paula weren’t done yet. The Spaniards started the second set with an early break and, holding serve, quickly went up 2-0. They guarded that lead like gold to force the match into a third set with a 6-3 win.

The third set didn’t start off well for the No. 1s. Delfi Brea was clearly struggling on the court. González and Josemaría noticed this and went for the match. They secured a quick break to go up 2-0, and although they conceded one, they regained the lead (4-1). Everything seemed headed toward a comfortable finish for Bea and Paula, but the reality is that they needed as many as 7 match points to seal the victory, which ended up being 6-3.
Some stats that make this victory even more special for Bea and Paula
No one can stop the No. 2 couple
Fourth consecutive title for Bea and Paula, who have remained undefeated since their win in Miami. Newgiza, Brussels, and now Asunción are all territories for the No. 2s.
The Pearl of El Palo is also the Pearl of Asunción
The victory comes in a place that, as we mentioned this week on the website, is special for Bea. The Malaga native already won here in 2024 with Delfi Brea, in 2025 with Claudia Fernández, and now she’s doing it alongside Paula Josemaría.
The RACE has new leaders
Additionally, with this victory, the Spanish duo takes the RACE lead from Gemma and Delfi. This Monday, Bea and Paula will add 600 points to take the lead with 3,520 points each, compared to the 3,480 points the Spanish-Argentine couple will have. Both teams will head into the next event on the calendar, the Buenos Aires P1, with a 40-point gap.
