Valladolid’s Plaza Mayor brought the curtain down on a week marked by stifling heat and a vibrant atmosphere that can only be experienced in this unique setting. After seven days of survival in extreme temperatures, the tournament crowned its champions on a final day full of emotion. This is how the Valladolid P2 finals unfolded.
Arturo Coello finally wins his dream place
Arturo Coello had a score to settle with the heart of his city. Despite being the reigning champion of the tournament, last year he had won the title in the Pisuerga sports centre due to the change of venue, and in the 2022 and 2023 editions, played in the Plaza Mayor, he had lost the final. In 2025, he finally settled that debt with his people.
Together with AgustÃn Tapia, he managed to beat Stupa and Lebrón, who alternated bursts of quality with incomprehensible errors. Pozzoni ‘s team were 5-3 and 30-0 up in the first set, but they couldn’t close it out and paid dearly for it.

Meanwhile, Pratto ‘s pupils knew how to read the key moments better, showing the necessary pinch of fortune and temper in a match that, at 13:00 hours, became practically a physical battle under a sun of justice. Coello’s consistency, coupled with Tapia’s magical repertoire, finally tipped the balance to seal a perfect week with a 7-5, 6-4 win that had the Plaza Mayor erupting in applause. Arturo was finally able to lift the trophy on the stage he had always dreamed of since he was a child.
No. 1s give no respite under the sun
Almost parallel to Arturo, Paula JosemarÃa also had a thorn in her side with Valladolid. Until today, she had reached three finals in the Plaza Mayor and had never won the title. This year, together with Ari Sánchez, she broke the curse with a bang.
They faced Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez, who put up a good fight but couldn’t overcome the world number ones. Ari and Paula dominated with authority at key moments, winning 6-4 and 7-5 in a match that returns them to the top of the singles ranking and now has four titles so far in 2025.

Special mention for Paula, who with this victory finally lifts the trophy in the Valladolid P2, a stage that had resisted her and that today definitively consecrates her as total champion.
